It's officially been
two weeks since Harper came to join our family and life has gotten so crazy I can barely keep up! So far, this has been what's happened:
Harper: lost her cord, is unusually strong for her size leading me to nickname her mighty mouse (Mouse is my nickname so it's appropriate!), sleeps all day and gets up all night, and is generally one of the sweetest babes I've been around (besides Pea of course). She is MUCH, and by much, I mean massively more mellow than Pearson was/is and I am loving that. She just rolls with what's going on and rarely cries except when she's cold or I'm not quick enough on the uptake with a bottle. She has her two week check up today and her official photo shoot tomorrow.
Overall, I am feeling very blessed not to have a baby with a fussiness issue or colic or anything else resembling it!
Pearson: loving her new sister and all the presents she's receiving as a result, doesn't really like to hold her for more than 20 seconds, definitely whines more and needs mommy suddenly much more than before baby Harper came into this world. hmm, coincidence? I think not. We are seeing this as a temporary phase which is allowing me to keep my sanity... Pea is genuinely sweet to Harper and a help to me too, which is an unexpected surprise, and I am thankful for that!
Ty & I: So so dead tired, but loving having our two girls. Ty leaves for Houston this week, but will return shortly.
We,
I will miss him and his amazing help. Best. Daddy. Ever.
We've had a TON of support (shout out to my parents, Ty's parents, and my sister-in-law and cousins, as well as our fab homegroup for bringing us dinner and love!). All for now...more updates to come soon!
