That's a First

Pea's first movie in a theater-she did really very well! Thank goodness for the massive tub of popcorn Andrea scored before the show. It was a hit and so
was Horton Hears A Who!

Double Date!

No we didn't go on a traditional double date last Saturday. We went on a Tyler and Chelsea double date which means we went to two restaurants back to back. Why? Because we could-S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y NIGHT. Shout out to Cheri and Paul for watching Pea!
We went to dinner at Boom Noodle and then on to beer samplers at the Tap House! mmm mm. We also got frozen ice cream, but that's neither here nor there...
Thank goodness for a little couple time!

Poopy Princesses

Dear Pearson,

Please DO NOT get out of your bed OR for the love of all that is holy take off your diaper during nap time again. Thank you.
Love,
Mommy

Umm...sparing all you readers out there the gory photos (don't worry I didn't take any) of the insane mess I had to clean up the other day, but sufficed to say this is what occurred:
Pea went down for her nap at 1-she was still sleeping at 3:30 so I go into her room to get her up. I open the door and already my nose alerts me to a major catastrophe. Pea sits right up when I turn the light on and has poop from one side of her face smeared INTO her hair. Yes. Her. Hair. I spring into action like a super hero-grab my baby and rush her to the tub while glancing at the crib she has just been pulled from. Poo on the crib slats, wall, blankets, and her beloved princesses (see picture of princesses below). OMG.
I scrub her, Cloroxed the princesses to within an inch of their life, and generally de-sanitize every surface near said contamination.

P.S. I apologize to future lovely adult Pearson who will read this and think her mom is ignoring basic standards of privacy slash decency to tell this heroic tale...

Golden for the following reasons:
1. Gold colored hair (RIP shaggy curls; you are no more).
2. Gold star athlete!
3. You are the only boy in our family-need I say more, I think not.
4. Golden because you have 9 lives.
And last, but certainly not least:

Wedded Bliss

Last night was a super fun family wedding up in Snohomish-it was beautiful and I'm putting up some of my favorite shots from it. Yes, we may have cut into the ice cream cake a bit early, but all in all a wonderful evening! Sorry there are so many pictures...I just loved them all.
Congrats Zach & Melissa!

17 Again

Forewarning: the following week/weekend in this Bell family's life is straight crazy. We've been doing VBS camp at church (shout out to my crew-best little 4 & 5 year olds ever!)...
Add to the mix the following ingredients:
-Family coming into town from Illinois and California
-A wedding to attend
-A girlfriend's bridal shower to rock
-And last but certainly not least: Uncle Chase and Aunt Chandler's birthdays! (My brother/sister)
It makes a busy life: Serves 3-bake at 350 (number of things I have to get done before Friday!)
Today is actually my sister Chani's birthday so I'm putting up a photo montage of her!
Chase, I'll hit you up on your birthday next week.
Chandler, can't believe you're seventeen! That makes this older sister: old.
We love you! Happy Birthday!

Dancing In The Dark

When I was a little girl just about Pea's age my dad had (moment of silence for this Way-Back-Play-Back) Dancing in The Dark by Bruce Springsteen. I absolutely LOVED it. Come on! Born in the USA? Good Times. He would play it at night before I went to bed and I would "dance" to the record being played. Yes. Record. Awesome.
And by dance, I actually mean running (full sprint) in a circle around our living room in my PJs which were essentially my dad's old T-shirts. Love this memory and I believe somewhere, somehow, my dad might have this craziness on video.
This video of Pea dancing with KVB cracks me up (sorry I can't figure out how to flip it) and I thought you'd want to catch it. Yes, KVB is a bit unhappy, but no animals were hurt in the making of this video (and neither was Pea).

Hood Rats

While driving to the sprinkler park yesterday with Pea and my two nieces, my sister-in-law Andrea made a great point saying (with no pride whatsoever), "Auburn is our new stomping grounds these days..."

To which I replied, "Yeah it kind of is..." thinking we need to find another sprinkler park.
Upon arriving at said park, all of the sprinklers suddenly turned off and we waited for about 20 min for them to come back on. The girls were "playing" in the drainage ditch until they finally did and when they finally got into the sprinklers some 6 year old boy started peeing at their feet on the ground! Shut the Front Door. It was beyond my capacity for grossness and so we decided to take off mostly because the girls weren't that into it.
Instead, we decided to go to DQ behind the sprinkler park to get treats. Besides the fact that there was a disproportionate ratio in favor of people wearing mullets while NOT wearing shoes (I guess right now Pea qualifies in this category) to people who had normal hair cuts and shoes ON; it was a big hit! As you can see...

The Other Half

Remember those necklaces you and your BFF bought when you were kids? I would give my other half to my girlfriend Ash. She's going through a bit of a rough patch and I wanted to dedicate this post to our friendship over the last 8 years. Tyler and I could not have asked for a better friend. We've had the best of times and I cannot even begin to describe to you on this blog what her friendship has meant to me. So I'll put up a few pics of her and write down a couple inside jokes, but I want her most of all to see this:
I love you Ash.

My maid of honor at our wedding.

Her trip HOME after Africa.

Holding Pea the morning after she was born.

Blocks of cheese and gram crackers/frosting in the mini fridge of course.
Love ya, Bye.
Animal Kingdom.
Nice Beret.
Our Caves in the Mag House.
Derek Wall.
Cousins!
Turning off my TV for me when I fell asleep with it on.
Starbucks Talks, all of our talks.
So many more I don't have room...

Pin Kisses, Mouse.

To Be(d) or Not to Be(d)?

That is the question! Synopsis of my night last night:

In the midst of reading a story to Pea (Olivia) when KVB comes in and starts tugging at the blanket I have hanging over the curtains in Pea's room. I've been lazy about getting a black out shade; regretting that at the moment. I swat, I say no, to NO avail. Suddenly the whole structure plummets to the ground ripping the curtain rod OUT of the wall. I have a big mess on my hands which includes dry wall. It's BRIGHT as day in Pea's room now and she just learned how to crawl out of the crib. I foresaw trouble, but none compared to what actually happened. She got out of the crib no less than 4 times! Each time pounding on her door because she can't get back into the crib-ugh. In, out. In, out. Four. Times. With much cajoling, threatening etc. she stayed in the crib at last and fell asleep at 9:15pm (normal bedtime 7:30).
So the back to the question at hand:
Should I set up the toddler bed or no? That way she can at least get back into bed on her own...got to contemplate this one for a bit. Comments/suggestions welcomed!
Keep you posted and by that I mean Four posted toddler bed...?

A Whole New World

It truly is. This morning my (official) 2 year-old figured out how to successfully climb out of her crib for the first time.
Oh. no.
In this scenario, Pearson is the Princess Jasmine being shown a whole new world through her discovery of this ability. Tyler is the sultan (because he's the father and like the Sultan is blissfully unaware of what just happened since he's in Texas this week). Let's just say KVB is the sidekick monkey who's along for the ride and I (of course) am Jafar worried that control of the kingdom is slowly slipping through my fingers...
I'll keep you posted after I figure out how to land this magic carpet.

Pea wanted to be Princess Jasmine this day too!

Happy Birthday Pea!

Ladies ONLY

Hilarious ladies night of real honest-to-goodness
rollerskating was had on Friday the 3rd in Auburn! Yes, Auburn.

Andrea has great pics/post: http://cakhbell.blogspot.com/2009/07/girls-night-out-turned-out-to-be-quite.html
Sufficed to say, the following took place:
-No A/C so I was sweating like it was going out of style...well we ALL were actually...
-Taryn is FAST and got in trouble for it. You'd think the reprimand would be for the fact that she wore a dress (which if you know Taryn is dangerous yet awesome)
-Andrea was skating flawlessly (of course) while taking pics THE. WHOLE. TIME.
-Nichole actually had a 9 year old tell her that, "she felt sorry for her because she was skating alone."

Lastly, we went out to Red Robin for post skating dessert and onion rings-mmm...well deserved I would say since many a calorie was burned!
So doing it again-next time: ALL dresses and boys are coming too;)

Happy Independence Day!

Hey all I broke my camera so these are 4th of July pics that Andi took! Enjoy!

Subgass

While this phrase may sound like it could be something horrible it's not. It's simply a command I hear these days from Miss Pearson all. the. time.

Pea:"Mommy, wear subgass pease."
Me (picture me sighing like Napoleon Dynamite): "Ok fine. Where are they?"
Pea (hands outstretched): "Where is she?"
This is Pea's standard response to asking her where anything lost is.
Me: "I don't know that's why I asked you!
Pea: "Toilet."
Me (panic setting in): "This is going to be bad."

Thankfully (or not I guess) it was a toddler mix-up and they were really in the litter box, but I don't think KVB really cared. However, I don't think it helped their rocky relationship because KVB looked as annoyed as is possible for an animal who has no control over who can and cannot touch her toilet. I pulled them out with tweezers, which if you know me, you know I have constantly on my employ.
Current Relationship Status: KVB Annoyed and Subgasses now in dishwasher.
