Since it's
Valentine's Day I thought I would post a letter that I've been working on to my girls. Tyler, because we first fell in love, now we have this wonderful life. A life I'd never trade...
Dear Pearson & Harper,
Let me first say two things. The first is the most vital: God loves you...desperately. More than you can even imagine and nothing delights Him more than you turning your face to His. Nothing, that is, except for the richest gift that
you could give to Him and that is your whole heart. He sought you, created you, designed you, died for you & will always wait on your love, your acceptance in return. Just as He is the only one who can ever fill you completely, you alone can complete a piece of Him. Never forget your worth; you were created and loved by the God of all things.
The second thing is that before your dad or I ever laid eyes on you; you were wanted, loved, honored, delighted in, and cherished. You were designed by the most creative creator who gave you life. You are unique and wonderfully made. You are a blessing; we are blessed of be your parents. Without doubt, you were both meant for this family, meant to be sisters, meant for us to raise, and meant for such a time as this. God makes no mistakes. There are no coincidences. He lives and moves, He works on our behalf, & blesses abundantly. I ask you both not to believe any of the enemies lies regarding gifts. Because he will lie to you repeatedly...the bottom line is: You ARE worthy & possess a beauty beyond all measure because you were created in His image.
Your dad and I will do our best to raise you to know Him. We will always strive to recognize who God made you to be; that you are two different people who are uniquely created for two different lives. That said, we hope you will always love, rely on and stay connected to each other in the good times and the bad. We also understand that we will make some mistakes along the way because we are human, but please know now that we LOVE you far beyond and despite our shortcomings.
Our hearts are first God's and then yours, we love you!
xoxo,
Mama
