Play (doh) Time

Last night I made spaghetti & meatballs for real. Pea decided to make spaghetti & meatballs for fun out of play doh with daddy's help. She was quite proud of these accomplishments: "You take my picture, Mom?"
Then she promptly took a bite of her made-up meal. Yum? "No, icky." said Pea.

Ultra (safe & sound)

We had our ultrasound yesterday and what we know is this:
Our little Harper is LITTLE, BUT healthy. She's measuring out small for her gestational age, but my doctor seems to think that our Bell babies are genetically smaller in size. Pearson weighed 6 lbs. 2 oz. at birth and I am hoping to get Harper to right around that mark before delivery as well. Good news: my placenta and fluid are checking out normal which to us is a huge blessing! On Friday we'll hear if my surgery needs to be pushed back or if I have to go on bedrest.  ugh. I am PRAYING this is not the case as I had to go on bedrest last time due to low ambiotic fluid and it was awesome horrible. And at that time I didn't have a crazy toddler to take care of. So if you're reading this, please send up a prayer that bedrest is NOT necessary and that Harper gains some weight during these next couple weeks!
Thank you for all your well wishes and we'll keep you all posted as updates come!
xoxo

"Two Weeks"

This is Pearson's standard reply whenever you ask her when ANYTHING is...doesn't matter if it's when someone's birthday is OR when baby Harper is coming, etc. Today, the latter happens to be true...two weeks! Below is a little something fun and PINK we're bringing to the hospital to celebrate her birth! Thank you, Kat & Tay! (I also love how her binky assuming she'll take one says, "whine connoisseur." too funny)

That being said, we have an ultrasound this week to check out her growth and that could possibly change a few things depending on what that tells us in terms of when she'll be delivered. OR it could change nothing and we're just hoping she comes exactly when she needs to! We had a non-stress test done at the doctor's office and she passed that, so now it's a waiting game before our ultrasound. I'll definitely keep all you readers out there posted on the details when we know more...
Thank you to all of you who have been praying for us and baby <3

Engaging

Five years ago today Tyler and I got engaged and since then so many things have happened in that short time frame; I wanted to remember them with a brief photo montage:

And now Harper on her way in 2(ish) weeks to complete our Bell brood, what an amazing five years it has been!

Holy Cow

In recent weeks I have launched a fruitless campaign to get my husband to comment on my blog in a manner that is not ironic, sarcastic, or just plain rude. Seemingly, these efforts have failed BUT in the spirit of hope, I present to you:
BEEF FEST 2010!
Here's the low-down: on Tuesday evening we had a WHOLE cow delivered to our residence. Upon watching Food, Inc. & Tyler's ongoing and inflexible, "zero carbs" policy, we decided buying a grass-feed cow to sustain our need for chuck, steaks, ground beef, etc was a smart choice. We split said cow with Ty's brother Casey & their cousins Joe & Tim. This turned out to be quite the event! Of course, the following will always occur when beef, money, and a donated freezer from Ed are involved:
-Casey wielding a spread sheet as his weapon of choice to defeat any unfair beef distribution.
-Tyler salavating and hovering like a dog in heat waiting to rip open any meat that doesn't need a flame.
-Joe (I'm guessing, but probably right) dreaming of how to utilize the Green Egg...
-Freezer came with the original reciepts from the mid-80's. That is impressive.

p.s. we tried the it last night-DELISH!!!

Bunny Hop

Yesterday Pearson was playing with her blocks by our downstairs window next to Kat Von B (who had been tweaking out over something in the backyard for about 20 min). Suddenly Pea lights up and screams, "Mommy, it's a bunny!"
Tyler gives me a look like, "uh huh, yeah right" but gets up to check it out anyway. (p.s. At the three week countdown to delivery: I'm not the parent jumping off the couch for a mythical rabbit sighting...)
BUT, lo and behold, our little gal was right! She spotted a REAL life bunny outside our humble abode:

I grabbed our camera and made sure to document the event which was CLEARLY a sign to Pearson of the wonderful spring & Easter approaching!

Insomniac

This week marks the beginning of my body flat out telling me a baby is on the way. If it's not calf-muscle spasms, contractions, waddling, or sympathetic smiles from other women at the gym, then it's simply this:
NO SLEEP. I toss, I turn. There is no comfortable position. I remarked to Tyler last night that I'm growing closer and closer to the point of trading sleep for 6 plus months & dealing with all the drama a newborn surely brings just to see my feet, drink some vino, and lay on my stomach again!
Most likely we'll be updating you all via Ty's i-touch at the hospital (i.e. pics, facebook annoucements, etc.), but I'll probably also have a guest blogger do a post or two as well...more pregnancy updates to come; stay tuned!

RoomMATE (continued)

Today my Mom helped me put some more finishing touches on Harper's room...just missing the dresser and book shelf which should be arriving shortly and when they do I'll be sure to add those pictures for you all to see! P.S. Check out the AMAZING curtains my talented Mama made: BIG thank you to my mom (and Dad) for helping us out painting as well! Here are some shots of the new Bell's room:

Taking Shots

Andi and I did a mini and impromptu maternity photo shoot at my house today. It was fun to do and sort of strange because this is my second pregnancy, but first and only shoot! Here they are and I couldn't be happier with them...

Egg Head

This post is dedicated to my brother-in-law Casey who consumed the equivalent of a full carton of eggs on Saturday; or at least very close to it...
Ty and I took Andrea and Casey out for dinner on Saturday night as payment and THANK YOU to Andi for preparing our taxes. She always makes them simple & we are blessed to have two CPA's (my brother Chase is a CPA too) in our family because they have skills Ty and I lack! We took them to Quinn's on Capitol Hill, then on to Tavern Law for drinks, and finished up with frozen custard: flavor of the day? Milk Malt Balls. Yes, the prego was happy about that turn of events.
Back to the eggs: Casey told us on the car ride there that he had had an egg mcmuffin for breakfast, and about three eggs for lunch, then he ordered the GOAT (yeah you read that right) at Quinn's which was served with an egg on top. Next we go to drinks where he orders a drink mixed with an egg white topping and last, but certainly not least we ate frozen custard made BASICALLY of eggs. WOW. Kudos to that kind of egg intake. So fun, can't wait for next year!

I love this picture for four reasons:
1. Andrea is behind the camera and I love that she loves taking pictures.
2. Tyler was originally sitting down and didn't want a picture of him sitting while his pregnant wife was standing even though it was my choice to stand (sometimes you got to stretch the gams).
3. It shows Casey's new and 21st century shirt choice-a BIG departure for him. Andi was proud...
4. Casey, not Tyler has his hand on my belly and that just cracks me up.

Spring Forward

Today has just felt like spring to me and to celebrate the coming of new life I did a painting today representing our family: four Bells, four tulips (also my favorite flower)...

Ironic

And searching through pictures: I took this photo when I was pregnant with Pearson in 2007 on nearly the EXACT same day of that pregnancy (one day off)...
