Christmas Eve/Day 2013

Some really fun highlights this year: Shanna joining us unexpectedly, seeing my brother, the girls being so into the true meaning of Christmas, watching their joy, my new deer head, laughs, kyla reading the Christmas story, Steve's devotional, and being with those we love. Merry Christmas!

Official Santa Picture 2013

Aaaaand it looks like a toddler mug shot. In the words of Andi: stone cold. At least Pea is smiling...

First Nutcracker

Harper has been REALLY into ballet these past few months and so I decided to take her and Pea to The Nutcracker as a new Christmas tradition. I couldn't have expected her to love it as much as she did. Pea liked it, but Harps LOVED it. She clapped after every performance, every twirl. She then asked to go back every night until Christmas. She said, "Mom, that was just so fun." We are definitely going back next year...
AND signing up for ballet in January!

Lang Family Christmas

Easily one of my favorite Christmas traditions of the season. Ty's huge and sweet family get together and bust out some Christmas cheer and as always a less than civil gift exchange. New fad this year? Boys and Girls join together in the exchange. Made it very interesting. Also, we counted: 14 new additions since 2008. Made things crazy. And also some Seahawk madness made for some mad boys. Family that prays, laughs, and loves together makes things FUN...
I love this family, my family. Live on Langs!

Progressive Dinner 2013

This year got a little crazy. I mean there are really no words to describe, but sufficed to say I will be having the first course at my house next year. The last course (dessert) can be rough and more often than not I get it. Because I make some good pie. Or rather my mom does;) Though two years ago I made a mean whoopie pie. I digress...
Reverse charades this year, which was super funny. Such good food, fun, and family who are also friends:)

He's Baaaaack!

Stanley has returned. Gosh, I wish I could keep him all year. It's like having a second mom sometimes. I can't wait for the girls to wake up and see him. It's becoming their favorite tradition. I'm hoping to keep it going a couple more years at least, but I'm wondering how long they'll believe?

O Christmas Tree.

We always skip the hustle and bustle of Black Friday to procure a special Christmas Tree. It's the best to go with family and friends, get hot cider, and pick out a holiday timber. This year we returned to Trinity Tree Farm, which has such a fun atmosphere with hot drinks and fires, a mini train, and you can cut down your own tree.  True to form our tree selections just keep getting better and better...well done all!

Thankful.

I asked Pea to write me a note for later on the chalkboard...
God thank you for encouraging me. You're doing something right in her heart!

Over the Moon

We are so excited for Uncle Chase and our future Aunt Shanna's wedding in July. The girls are over the moon excited about it. And we were so happy to finally meet her family and get some quality time in with them on the eve before the Seahawks game.

Oh, and guess what?? Today we got to go wedding dress shopping and the girls were asked to be flower girls. They can't believe it...

Mourning routine.

These two are growing up so fast. They don't seem to want ANY help these days. Tear. No need for mom to comb Pea's hair, which she decided (and apparently every other 6 year old) must grow out. Harp likes to do her own thing (surprise) in the tub, which I normally let her do. It involves Barbie fashion shows and consuming soapy tea. Just stop. Stop Getting BIGGER. DO YOU HEAR ME??
Tantrum over.
But still...

#213060

The girls had a weekend away for my mom's impending 60th birthday. But it was to celebrate my sister's 21, my 30th, and her 60th. We went to Alderbrook Resort and it was beautiful and relaxing. We got massages and lounged around and then went to a nice dinner. The next morning we happened upon the most funky diner for breakfast! so fun. Loved spending time with my mom and sister and celebrating some amazing milestones!
