Do The Puyallup.

And do we did. Normally I go to the fair for the scones, which is still truth in action, however this year was slightly different. It was such a fun adventure for Pea and Harp. We skipped last year and wow what two years difference will make. Pea could not get enough of all the sights and Harp was SUPER into the rides. She in fact screamed like a banshee when I tried to pry her fingers off the motorcycle ride. She's our "go" girl. Anything that goes: she loves. Pea was brave and tried new adventures including, but not limited to cotton candy which she normally would not touch. She's our "texture" girl; just like her mama. We saw some enormous pigs, which I'm pretty positive were Ty's highlight. That and spending a day with the little ladies. What a fun day...

Kindergarten. Like Real School.

School age has been sneaking up on us like a thief in the night. Time out: You need to see this. Such a lucky SIL to have this in my family. Incredible photo shoot for our little cousin twins and yes, we'll be using this at their high school grad parties... Time-in: My firstborn is now in school. Real government funded, cliques at recess, eat your brown-bag lunch school! I almost can't believe it. Today was her first day of kindergarten and though Pea was a tad nervous, mostly she was just really, really excited. We met her teacher a couple weeks ago and her name rhymes with rabbit, which pea thinks is grand. She's been telling everyone. I misted once, but didn't cry. Because it feels surreal, like it's not even happening to my little girl OR me. But it is. And when the shock of that hits in three weeks, it may be a river! Normally, we have a history of bad starts to the first day of school...not this time. It was seamless: we ate breakfast, pea drew a picture of what her classroom looks like, she dressed, and watched JEM, took pictures, and poof. Waiting outside her school with a bunch of other dazed parents like visitors at the zoo. I can clearly remember my kinder year; Mrs. Fisher was my teacher, we had mandatory rest time, and got to choose between chocolate milk or orange juice each day. I chose orange juice once... Here's to you, sweet Pea. I love you. And I hope this year is as memorable and lovely as 1988. xoxo.

Cribs.

We've officially said "Goodbye" to the crib that housed both my babies through countless nights: sickness, timeouts, and sweet sleep. Our little black beauty has a new home and awaiting another precious Stendera girl! As this week brings MANY changes, including the start to kindergarten (eeek!) I'm re-posting this...ahh, memory lane; you are bittersweet.

Confessions.

These are my confessions...
I don't have a double life involving groupies like Usher, but it feels good to get 'em out right? You know you love this post dear readers:
-I just got out of the shower with my hair slicked back and I looked exactly like Gordon Gecko. At which moment the internal debate about growing my hair out was unilaterally decided.
-I'm SO over the mustache trend. Scrolling through Facebook I saw two different friends posing with multicolored mustaches. Maybe I'm a closet hipster, but seriously. Just grow one if you love them. If you have one with a stick attached to it, we might need to reconsider our kinship.
-I'm on night two of wearing my swimsuit bottoms to bed. Don't ask.
-I am loving this blog: Suri's Burn Book. It's written from the perspective of Suri Cruise, it's satirical, it's hilarious. It will make you laugh. Out loud. (I wrote it like that because I didn't want to write LOL. I AM a closet hipster, huh?)
-I am currently trying my hand at matchmaking. I'll update in the next confessions if it pans out.
-Sometimes Pea is so helpful it hurts my heart.
-I sorely miss the days of looking through your room to gather things which will fill up your purse; childhood is fleeting.
-I have all the episodes of season 5 Mad Men saved on my DVR. I've watched two. On an unrelated note I may be having a slight identity crisis.
-Brutus is becoming close to my heart. And mostly because he's a ginger.
-I am annoyed more and more at the couples who have joint Facebook accounts. Merely because the twofirstnamespluslastname is so long. And not because of codependency issues. What? I promise.
-If I really sit down and think what it means for Pea to start kindergarten on Friday I will cry...
More confessions coming your way.
